When designing for the industrial tech sector, the biggest challenge isn’t just making the layout “look good”—it’s ensuring that the user can navigate a wealth of technical information without feeling overwhelmed. For my recent collaboration with Interactive Apps, I utilized Visual Hierarchy to turn a four-product flyer into a strategic sales tool.
To differentiate between the various hardware solutions and the flagship software ecosystem, I implemented a high-contrast color strategy:
The Foundation (Dark Mode): I utilized a sophisticated palette of obsidian and deep blues for products like the Bleepr Smart Asset Tracking , Arrow Global GPS , and the AI Camera System. This aesthetic reinforces the “rugged” and “heavy-duty” nature of industrial hardware.
The Spotlight (Light Mode): To ensure the 360° AI Detection & Smart Safety system stood out as the highlight, I broke the dark theme with a clean, high-contrast white layout. This “Visual Disruptor” immediately draws the eye to the most critical safety solution in the lineup.
Visual Hierarchy is the art of guiding the viewer’s eye to the most important information first. In this project, I achieved this through:
Scale and Typography: Bold, oversized headings like 360° AI DETECTION and AI CAMERA SYSTEM act as anchors, allowing the reader to identify the subject of each page in less than a second.
Information Layering: By categorizing data under clear headers such as KEY BENEFITS and CORE FEATURES, I created a “scannable” experience. This allows potential clients to find specific specs—like the 10+ years battery life or IP69K durability —without digging through walls of text.
Iconography: I integrated technical icons to represent complex features visually, reinforcing the “high-tech” brand identity while saving valuable layout space
The resulting design doesn’t just list products; it tells a story of reliability and intelligence. Whether the end-user is operating a prime mover, an excavator, or a heavy vehicle, the flyer provides a clear, professional roadmap of how these technologies integrate into their operations.
